Let’s play ball birthday girl!

Evelyn Jones didn’t want to spend her 108th birthday relaxing at home. Instead, she wanted to show her support for her favorite baseball team right on the field.

Before the Seattle Mariners took on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Saturday evening, Jones put on her team jersey and stepped onto the dirt with her walker to show off her athletic skills.

With a little underhand toss, the proud great, great grandmother became the oldest person to throw a ceremonial first pitch at an MLB game. You go, girl!

“Evelyn threw a first pitch to @RealKingFelix and the entire stadium sang her Happy Birthday,” the Mariners shared on Twitter. “Best birthday ever?” You can say that again!

The team also treated the birthday girl to a cake from the team’s mascot and Jones even received a jersey with the number 108.

“She and my dad watched all sports. She loved the Sonics, she loved the Seahawks but she really loved the Mariners,” daughter Kay Vea told ESPN. “She says, ‘I love the Mariners!’ She and my dad never missed games and she still doesn’t, which I think is pretty good for 108.”

While she prefers to watch games from the comfort of her own home, she was thrilled to meet her favorite players and see her team beat the Angels 5-0.

If the Mariners keep winning, fans may just see Jones return to Safeco Field yet again. “If they go into the playoffs, we’re bringing her back,” Jones’ grandchild Brad Vea told the MLB. That shouldn’t be a problem for Jones who had the best advice for a long and healthy life.

“Keep having birthdays,” she shared. Don’t mind if we do, Ms. Jones.
