Four years after joining the CBS soap in the role of Dylan McAvoy, Steve Burton is leaving The Young and the Restless with his final episode to come in December. The veteran soap actor made the announcement tonight on Twitter, telling fans that the decision came after “with lots of reflection,” and expressing affection for the cast and crew.
A longtime soap figure, Burton portrayed Jason Morgan on General Hospital from 1991-2000, briefly in 2001, and from 2002-2012, winning a daytime Emmy during his tenure with the series.
Burton didn’t reveal when his final show will air, and no plans to recast the character have been announced.
