Ted Cruz, the first-term senator from Texas, officially confirmed his run for president on Monday morning in front of thousands of students at Liberty University. He is the first person to announce his candidacy, but we’re crossing our fingers that Britney Spears will be announcing her plans to run any day now. #OopsIVotedAgain
“I believe in you. I believe in the power of millions of courageous conservatives rising up to re-ignite the promise of America. Today, I am announcing that I am running for president of the United States,” he said during his announcement. “It is a time for truth, it is a time for liberty, it is a time to reclaim the constitution of the United States.”
