“The Big Bang Theory” Pays Tribute to the Late Leonard Nimoy

It’s one of the hottest shows on television and “The Big Bang Theory” honored “Star Trek” legend Leonard Nimoy on last night’s episode (March 5).

Given that Jim Parsons’ character Sheldon Cooper was a huge Nimoy fan, the producers actually invited Leonard to lend his voice for a dream sequence a few seasons ago. Following the experience, Nimoy told press, “I thoroughly enjoyed myself. [They’re] a talented company and a smart show; they made me welcome.”

At the close of the March 5th episode, creator Chuck Lorre used his trademark vanity card as a special tribute. His statement read, “The impact you had on our show and our lives is everlasting.” Nimoy passed away on February 27th at age 83 due to COPD.
