If you’ve ever wondered what Kermit the Frog would look like if he were a real frog—here ya go!

Although Kermit has always had a real place in our hearts, it turns out there’s an actual, real-life amphibian roaming this earth with the same exact look as Jim Henson‘s creation.

Scientist Brian Kubicki has discovered a new species of glass frog in the Talamanca mountains of Costa Rica called Hyalinobatrachium dianae that has an uncanny resemblance to everybody’s favorite Muppet.

Among the shocking similarities are the distinct bright green color and shape of the eyes.

According to The Telegraph, “Mr Kubicki said that the new species, of which six specimens have been found so far, was clearly different due to its colouring, skin texture and the distinctive sound of its call.”

Kubicki also said the tiny, semi-translucent glass-frog specimen, which is only found in certain parts of Central and South America and are characterised by skin so translucent that their organs are visible, is very delicate and its presence “is a good indicator of the general health of the eco-system.”

The findings are detailed in a piece recently published in the journal Zootaxa by Kubicki, with co-authors Stanley Salazar and Robert Puschendorf.
