Comedian and presenter Samantha Bee delivered a visceral monologue in the wake of the recent atrocities in Orlando, Florida, on Monday’s episode of ‘Full Frontal’, urging radical action once and for all to prevent such mass shootings from occurring again.
America has been in mourning since the shocking massacre of 49 people and scores of countless injured others at a gay club in Orlando on Saturday (June 12th). After a spate of recent similar killings, many commentators are angry and openly doubting whether the political will exists to get anything done about gun control.
Samantha Bee launched a furious monologue on Monday’s ‘Full Frontal’
“Well, here we are,” Bee began. “Now, after a massacre, the standard operating procedure is that you stand on stage and deliver some well-meaning words about how we will get through this together. How love wins, how love conquers hate. And that is great, that is beautiful. But you know what? F*** it! I am too angry for that. Love does not win, unless we start loving each other enough to fix our f*****g problems.”
The atrocity was perpetrated by a man identified as Omar Mateen, who was later revealed as having been mentally unstable, having been violent to ex-wife, and having been questioned twice by the FBI for links to terrorism.

Despite all this, he was still allowed to legally purchase an automatic weapon, which he used to carry out the killings. Bee explicitly railed against the response by Florida governor Rick Scott to the killings, and questioned why it was necessary for such powerful weapons to be allowed at all.
“We can’t constitutionally get rid of all guns, but can’t we get semi-automatic assault rifles out of the hands of civilians?” she asked.
“‘Sam Bee wants to take your guns away!’ Yes — the ones that mow down a roomful of people in seconds. Yes, I do want to take those guns away. These high-capacity penis substitutes are a sh**** choice for hunting and home protection, but perfect for portable mayhem,” Bee added.
“There is no shortage of troubled twentysomethings out there,” Bee finished, “and whether they are radicalized by ISIS, or homophobia, or white nationalism, or a dislike of movies, we are making it far too easy for their derangement to kill us.”
