Rihanna‘s Met Gala outfit got a lot of attention last night, as it should.
While it may not come as a huge surprise that her extremely massive yellow robe took quite some time to create, it may have taken even longer than you think. During an interview with Vogue‘s André Leon Talley on the red carpet, RiRi revealed that not only did her robe take years to make (yes, that’s plural), but it was all stitched together by one woman—designer Guo Pei.
“It’s a miracle how it happened actually,” she tells Talley. “I saw this beautiful beast on the Internet. I was looking through, you know, researching Chinese couture…It’s handmade by one Chinese woman. It took two years to make this.”
Amazing.

Her outfit almost instantly sparked some hilarious memes that started circulated the Twittersphere, with her robe being transformed into various images, including a pizza crust and omelete.
Rih even got in on the meme game and shared a funny photo of herself coming out of a cracked egg on Instagram. She simply captioned the pic, “carrying.”
Her look also became luxurious pet clothing for one particular pup. Bloggers Cailli and Sam Beckerman posted an adorable video of their pomeranian wearing a huge, fuzzy, yellow cloak while Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money” played in the background.
The singer reposted the video and wrote, “@beckermanblog your dog is next level bruh #metgala2015.”
