The 38-year-old rapper, AKA William Leonard Roberts II, was taken into custody late on Friday night, according to reports in TMZ. He was allegedly arrested last year for possession of marijuana but failed to turn up at court. Ross was apprehended by authorities after his performance at the SuperJam 2014 at the Greensboro Coliseum.

According to reports, a warrant was out for Ross and the moment he entered the state the North Carolina police were gearing up to arrest him. He was apparently cooperative with the authorities and a SuperJam representative, speaking to USA Today, said Ross had paid the $ 1000 bail and has been released.

As Billboard reports, this is not the first time Ross has had run-ins with the law. In 2008 he was arrested in Miami on gun and marijuana charges, and once again for possession of the drug in 2011. He was also sued for battery and assault in 2008 in Houston.

Last week Ross was forced to abandon his attempts to perform at a concert in Detroit when a mob of 100, organised by a rival rapper Trick Trick, barred his entry to Chene Park Amphitheatre. Trick Trick, AKA Christian Mathis, allegedly demands visiting rappers to Detroit check in with him before performing. Ross reportedly had failed to adhere to Trick Trick’s rules and was forced to cancel his appearance at the Hot 107.5 Summer Jamz.
