She always struggled to shake the good girl image, and finally in April of 2013 Reese Witherspoon fell pretty hard.

While plugging her new film “Wild” at the BFI Film Festival in London on Monday (October 13) the “Sweet Home Alabama” babe recalled the low point when she was arrested for disorderly conduct in Atlanta while filming “The Good Lie.”

Reese explained, “I think it was a moment where people realized that I wasn’t exactly what they thought I was. I guess maybe we all like to define people by the way the media presents them, and I think that I showed I have a complexity that people didn’t know about.”

Witherspoon added, “It’s part of human nature. I made a mistake. We all make mistakes. The best you can do is say sorry and learn from it and move on.”

Shortly after the snafu, Reese told Us Weekly, “I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am.”
