President Barack Obama Pokes Fun at Prince George, Kendall

It was a roast to never forget. 

As is customary at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, President Barack Obama took the podium late Saturday evening to offer his final frank remarks at the annual Washington, D.C. affair.

He wasted no time delivering the zingers, poking fun at virtually everyone from his own wife First Lady Michelle Obama to 2-year-old Prince George. 

He approached the mic to the sound of the “Cups” famous lyric, “You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone.” 

“You can’t say it, but you know it’s true,” President Obama joked before the audience of Washington journalists in response to the music. It was the first quip of many to come.

Next, he acknowledged the event was his last as president—and perhaps the last one to ever take place depending on the next White House resident. “The end of the republic has never looked better,” he said. 

Obama showed off his Game of Thrones expertise during a joke about locking the Republican congressmen in the room to approve his Supreme Court judge nomination. “It’s like the red wedding,” he added.  

Afterward, President Obama switched the subject to his recent meeting with Prince William, Duchess Kate Middleton and their adorable toddler. However, the president didn’t find the child’s latest wardrobe choice too amusing. 

“Last week, Prince George showed up to our meeting in his bath robe,” he said with a straight face. “That was a slap in the face—a breach of protocol.” 

Of course, he was kidding and the remark received a flurry of laughter from the dinner’s guests.

He later focused his attention on model Kendall Jenner, who was a first-time attendee of the dinner this year as a guest of USA Today.

“Kendall Jenner is also here and we had a chance to meet backstage,” he explained. “She seems like a very nice young woman. I’m not exactly sure what she does, but I am told that my Twitter mentions are about to go through the roof.” 

Finally, after faking an end to the speech, even President Obama knew he couldn’t sit down without making a few remarks about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. 

“I am a little hurt he’s not here tonight. We had so much fun the last time,” he said, referring to Seth Meyers‘ roast of the businessman at the dinner in 2011. “Is this dinner too tacky for The Donald?”
