NBC is putting a twist on the hot drama procedural drama genre this season with Dreamer, from Matt Lopez (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice) and John Glenn (Allegiance). The network has given a script plus penalty commitment to the project, a high-concept procedural, from Universal TV where both Lopez and Glenn are under overall deals.

Written by Lopez, Dreamer centers on a woman who discovers that her newfound “gifts” may be the result of a mysterious conspiracy. Lopez and Glenn executive produce.

This is the third consecutive collaboration for the duo, following  family drama Caesar, which was set up at ABC last year, and Justice at NBC the year before. Universal TV was the studio on both.

Last year, Glenn also executive produced legal soap Miranda’s Rights, written by Katie Lovejoy, which went to pilot at NBC, and wrote Heavenly Creatures, a new take on NBC’s guardian angels drama produced by Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, which had been originally developed the previous season. Glenn is repped by WME and Warren Dern.

Lopez, who previously wrote the ABC gothic soap drama pilot Gothica, is repped by WME and Melissa Rogal.
