She’s really embraced her celebrity status with a positive attitude over the years, and Mindy Kaling was equal parts surprised and thrilled when somebody thought she was human rights activist/Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai.

The “Mindy Project” mastermind attended NYC’s Boom Boom Room for the New Yorker Festival over the weekend, and during the festivities an older man gave her some undue props.

According to the Times, the guy proclaimed, “Congratulations on your Nobel Prize,” before asking her how she recovered from being shot in the head by the Taliban.

Kaling’s response was a cute as expected- “Did he really think I’m Malala? And that if I were, I’d be at the Boom Boom Room? That’s the best thing that’s happened all night.”

Afterwards she tweeted, “Honored to have been mistaken for @MalalaFund! (yes, a little bit because she is 17).”
