The Power Playbook reunites Poster with Queen Latifah, with whom the former Weinstein Co. and Miramax Films senior executive worked on the feature Chicago. Written by Neena Beber (Ballers) based on the book by La La Anthony, The Power Playbook is an ensemble drama centering on a group of women who use sports strategies to help in both their personal and professional lives. Through incredible highs and devastating lows, they stick together through life’s twists and turns. Latifah and her business partner Shakim Compere will executive produce through their production company, Flavor Unit, alongside Poster, La La Anthony and Beber.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be partnering with Meryl Poster, who I’ve admired as the ultimate power player for many years,” said Anthony.

Written by Melissa Rundle (Cup of Love), Molly centers on a straight-A prep student with Ivy League ambitions who is forced to forge a new path in order to support her family. She teams up with a juvie-bound boy in the prescription drug business, and unexpectedly finds herself falling for him. Poster will executive produce alongside Samantha Olsson Shear of Kickstart Productions.

In addition to the two Lifetime dramas, Poster’s Superb Entertainment also has The Von Bulow Affair set up at Universal Cable Productions, Changers in the works at Lionsgate TV, Family Band at CMT, and Seventh Avenue (written by House of Cards’ Frank Pugliese) at MRC. On the unscripted side, Poster, who previously steered the hit Project Runway franchise for the Weinstein Co., has projects at VH1, Lifetime, and Animal Planet.
