McDonald’s began receiving complaints from parents shortly after the movie promotional toy was released at the beginning of July, according to reports in the BBC. Although there are a range of different Minions characters to collect, it is the caveman minion which is under scrutiny.
McDonald’s claims the toy only makes three noises and none of them are even remotely obscene. The toy reportedly says “para la bukay,” “hahaha” and “eh eh.” However, debate continues despite their statement released on Friday (10th July).
“Our goal at McDonald’s is to serve up food and fun for our valued customers, and we’re glad to have the Minions on board,” a spokesperson for McDonald’s said in a statement.
