He got his start playing a creeper named David Wooderson in the film “Dazed and Confused,” and now Matthew McConaughey’s audition tape has surfaced.
The Academy Award-winning actor tried out for the Richard Linklater flick back in 1992, sporting a black MTV Headbanger’s Ball t-shirt with flowing blonde hair and plenty of southern swagger. Thankfully, Matthew had the juice necessary to land his stoner role as it brought him into view for writers, directors and casting agents all over Tinseltown.
These days, McConaughey has an Oscar under his belt for “Dallas Buyers Club,” as well as a Golden Globe for his work in “True Detective.”
