EXCLUSIVE: Ignacio Serricchio (Bones) is set to co-star opposite Toby Stephens, Molly Parker and Parker Posey in Lost in Space, Netflix’s remake of sci-fi master Irwin Allen’s 1965 cult TV classic, from Legendary TV.

The new Lost in Space, slated for a 2018 premiere, takes its cues from the original series, centering on the Robinson family, who is forced to come together in a time of crisis. Stranded light years from their intended destination, they find themselves battling a strange new alien environment and also their own personal demons.

Serricchio will play Don West, a roughneck smuggling luxury goods on the side who finds in the Robinsons the family he never thought he would find. The character was played by Mark Goddard in the 1960s CBS television series. Stephens and Parker play the Robinson parents, while Posey plays Dr. Smith, a female version of the character from the original series.

Lost in Space was written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. They executive produce with Zack Estrin, who serves as showrunner, Kevin Burns and Jon Jashni of Synthesis Entertainment, as well as Neil Marshall and Marc Helwig of Legendary TV-based Applebox. Marshall will serve as producing director and direct several episodes of the series.

Ignacio was one of the leads on Brandy Norwood’s series Zoe Ever After and he currently recurs on Bones and Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce. He’s repped by The Kohner Agency and MPG Management.
