Writer/director Wayne Roberts, whose Olivia Cooke starring film Katie Says Goodbye premieres this Sunday at the Toronto Film Festival, has signed with CAA. The film marks Roberts’ directorial debut; he actually wrote the film while still a student at at NYU Tisch School of the Arts where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. The film about a truck-stop waitress (Cooke) who believes she has found a way out of her dead end when she falls in love with a handsome young mechanic, also stars Mireille Enos, Christopher Abbot, James Belushi, Mary Steenburgen and Keir Gilchrist.

CAA is also representing the film’s domestic distribution rights while Cercamon is partnering with Parallel Cinema, Relic Pictures, and Unknown Subject to handle all international sales rights.

Roberts is also repped by Grandview and attorney Michael Schenkman at Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal LaViolette Feldman Schenkman & Goodman.
