Jonathan Bennett Really Doesn’t Want A ‘Mean

It’s still his most famous role, more than 10 years after Mean Girls hit cinemas and became a cult favourite, but Jonathan Bennett has zero interest in another outing as pin-up pupil Aaron Samuels. When Us Weekly asked the actor about the possibility of reuniting with Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams and the rest of the cast, the 33-year-old didn’t exactly mince his words. “I don’t give a f**k,” he said.

Jonathan Bennett at the premiere of The DuffJonathan Bennett: don’t ask him about a Mean Girls sequel

“If anyone asks me one more time if there’s going to be a Mean Girls reunion, I’m going to kill someone,” he continued while attending the Reality TV Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday (May 13).

“No! There’s not going to be a Mean Girls reunion! Stop trying to make it happen! It’s not going to happen!”

So there you have it, folks. On a brighter note, Lohan, McAdams, Tina Fey, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert are clearly much happier with the thought of a reunion. They got back together last year for the 10th anniversary of the hit comedy, and Lohan told Entertainment Weekly she would be up for reprising the role of Cady Heron. “Why can’t we do a sequel? Of us all grown up… To work with everyone involved in Mean Girls again would be an honor. It was such a good experience. I think it would be really cool.”

Mean Girls became something of a pop-culture phenomenon after its release in 2004, with its all-too-real depiction of high-school life and a script filled with highly quotable insults and comebacks. A sort-of sequel followed in 2011, but principal Tim Meadows was the only original cast member to return, and the film isn’t remembered as fondly.
