Universal Pictures’ Jason Bourne has clicked past $400M, making it the second-highest Bourne sequel after The Bourne Ultimatum ($442M) and the highest grossing title in the series overseas with $238.6M, beating Ultimatum‘s $215.4M. And the fifth Bourne movie isn’t done yet with Japan opening today.

At the domestic B.O., Jason Bourne made $161.78M after opening to $59.2M, the second best U.S./Canada debut for the franchise. The Matt Damon vehicle opened in the No. 1 spot in 49 territories, notching a record bow for the series in 52 markets.  In 51 territories, Jason Bourne is the highest grossing title in the franchise. To date, the fifthquel’s top markets are  China ($66.3M), U.K. ($30.3M), Korea ($19.1M), Australia ($16.7M) and France ($11.6M).

In the states, Jason Bourne bowed after Paramount’s threequel Star Trek Beyond. Some thought Jason Bourne, like Star Trek Beyond, had a slow start out of the gate in regards to its production cost ($120M). However, Bourne has surpassed Star Trek Beyond‘s $337.7M worldwide take.

All in, the Bourne franchise has minted $1.6B worldwide for Universal.
