Jared Leto does not do things halfway. The method actor once gained 60 pounds for a role (to play Mark David Chapman in “Chapter 27”) and then lost almost 40 for another (his Oscar-winning turn as Rayon in “Dallas Buyers Club”). So naturally, when it comes to summer travel plans, it’s fair to say Leto gets a little more extreme than the average vacationer.
After excursions to Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks in June, Leto has assembled his best photos into two albums on the visual storytelling platform Steller. The albums show Leto rock climbing and bouldering with friends, and also include a few shots of his torn-up hands and fingers. As he put it in one caption, “Fingerprints gone. Memories gained.”
Leto appears as the Joker in “Suicide Squad,” which hits theaters August 5, 2016. That role, of course, required yet another major physical transformation; he cut and bleached his famously long locks for the part.
