The former Mad Men star always looks flawless on the red carpet, but her glowing skin and slim physique have nothing to do with a crazy food fad or workout regime.
“I know there are a lot of cleanses people do,” she told Elle.com. “I need to eat, or I get lightheaded and angry. But I love taking enzymes and probiotics and feeling good and being healthy and eating healthy, but I’m not going to starve myself or do a milk cleanse.
“Almost every actress I know has tried it. You don’t eat, and you only drink goat milk for eight days. You’re only supposed to do it once a year, and I saw someone—I won’t name her—but I saw her right afterwards, and she looked amazing.”
Instead of taking drastic measures to stay in shape, the 38-year-old prefers fun activities with her four-year-old son Xander, as well as exercise classes she can enjoy.
“I just started working out four weeks ago,” she confessed. “I started doing Cardio Barre, and I like it. It goes by quick. I just don’t like gyms. I did prenatal yoga when I was pregnant, but I’m not a big workout person.
“I’ll go on hikes and run around with my kid, but I don’t like a regimented workout regime. But I’m liking the Cardio Barre. I feel like it’s fun, and all my girlfriends go.”
When it comes to beauty, however, January is much more high maintenance: “I don’t get facials, I do them at home, so I love doing exfoliation masks and moisture masks and serums and creams and eye patches. I just love all that stuff.”
