Time sure does fly when Taylor Swift is your godmother!
Jaime King couldn’t let her youngest son Leo Thames‘ milestone first birthday pass without a special shout out to the one and only pop star. The Hart of Dixie star took to Twitter on Saturday, offering a heartfelt message to the “Shake It Off” songstress alongside a picturesque collage of the trio in quite a few tender moments.
“Wow! @taylorswift13 LT’s 1st bday already?! He sends kisses & a bangin’ 2 teeth smile to his Godmother in Oz,” King wrote, including, “We [love] u!” with a heart emoji.
With Swift currently enjoying some time down under with new beau Tom Hiddleston, little Leo surely missed her presence during the celebration. Not to fear, Leo most likely felt the love from his 2-year-old big brother James Knight, who Jaime shares with hubby Kyle Newman.
And King is well aware of how lucky her little guy is to share such a special bond with the Grammy winner. Speaking to E! News’ Marc Malkin ahead of his birth in April 2015, the actress revealed what qualities of Taylor’s made her the perfect candidate for the position.
“I always thought if I were to have another child that she would be the ideal godmother because the way she not only treats me but the way she treats other human beings,” King gushed. “She’s so loving and so giving and so generous and she does everything from her heart and she’s incredibly brave and authentic. It’s a very rare thing to come across.”
Shortly after meeting her godson for the first time, Taylor explained to a sold-out concert arena the impact he’s made on her.
“I wrote it when I was like 18 or 19 but my friend just had a baby and she made me godmother of it and I was holding this little baby the other night and I was just thinking differently,” she explained when referencing “Never Grow Up.” “When you’re holding onto something that’s so innocent and so perfect and has no idea what’s coming for it with the world. The world is going to throw so many things at you as we grow up.”
Safe to say baby Leo is in great hands.
