For those who put money on Alice as the name of Prinz William and Kate Middleton‘s daughter, they might want to consider using the obliviate spell to forget it ever happened because it turned out to be Charlotte Elizabeth Diana!

But people who follow J.K. Rowling on Twitter might have had a change of heart at the last second regarding the baby’s name because she had properly predicted her birth date in an eerie twist of events. The Harry Potter author was on a role Friday when she called that royal baby No. 2 would be born May 2.

NEWS: What if Princess Charlotte grows up to be like the Sex and the City character?

Seeing as she hit the nail on the head with half of her statement, it wouldn’t be surprising if people changed their bets at the last minute to Victoria LOL. (Victoire Weasley was born on the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts in the series, which falls on May 2.) Unfortunately, she wasn’t right about Victoria.

Ladbrokes tells E! News that they saw approximately $ 302,000 worth of bets placed since September 2014 when Wills and Kate first announced their pregnancy. But the betting company also noted that the entire bookmaking industry saw approximately $ 1.5 million worth of wagers.

U.K. bookies were forced to pay out $ 1.5 million to betters all over the country that picked Kate to give birth to a girl and then call her Charlotte. “Charlotte was the hot tip over the weekend and royal watchers up and down the land are quids in,” said Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes in a statement. “We may have lost a fortune but we’re paying out with a smile and wish the Duke & Duchess all the best.”

Charlotte was the most popular bet since the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth with three times as many wagers placed compared to Alice, Diana and Olivia. So as for why the proud parents chose this regal moniker? We take a closer look:

It is believed the name Charlotte is a nod to William’s father Prince Charles (Charlotte is the female form of the name). Charlotte is also the middle name of Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton as well as her mother Carole while Elizabeth is both Kate’s middle name and a tribute to William’s grandmother and the reigning queen, Queen Elizabeth II. The fourth in line to the throne’s moniker also honors William’s late mother Princess Diana
