If your dream has always been to get Selena Gomez to heart one of your tweets, we have some bad news for you. Twitter might not let that wish come true. The social site released a “companion” app targeted toward celebs, influencers and public figures called Engage, which helps those with a large presence to better communicate with their followers (sort of). The app also manages your accounts statistics (for example how well your tweets are doing, etc.), and can even show you what your fans are tweeting about in real time. Obviously, this is all very helpful for those with big followings, but what about the rest of us who just want that RT from Taylor Swift ?

Twitters blog notes influencers will “never miss a conversation that matters,” as the app will make sure you don’t skip over tweets from your “Super fans,” (devoted followers who constantly talk to you or have followed you since forever), other celebs and verified Twitter accounts. In other words, this spells bad news for us normal folk who don’t have that magic blue check mark or who refuse to tweet obsessively at our fave celebs. It appears your tweets might slip right on by if you don’t happen to be a VIP.

Engage isn’t just for famous people, however, as anyone can download it from the App Store. Mashable even notes that it could be a nifty app for users to deal with cyber-bullying and Twitter trolls. Maybe that makes it all worth it?
