TV presenter Holly Willoughby was forced to pull out of her appearance on ‘This Morning’ earlier today, after her young son had to be taken to hospital after suffering a head injury.
The 35 year old presenter was due to make her regular appearance on the ITV magazine show on Monday morning (April 18th), but Ruth Langsford was forced to step in at the last minute to present alongside co-host Phillip Schofield after Holly’s one year old son Chester, the youngest of her three children, had to go to hospital the day before.

As the show started, Schofield explained his colleague’s absence from the sofa, saying: “Ruth’s standing in today because – and before I go any further, he’s all right – Chester, her youngest son, yesterday fell over and banged his head. And he’s got a very nasty cut on his head.”
“They dressed it overnight, and today he has to go back into hospital and they’re going to put stitches in it so that’s where Holly is. But he’s absolutely fine and he was playing after it.”

Having been duly inundated with messages from well-wishers, Holly eventually responded in the afternoon and thanked fans for their understanding. Posting a picture on Instagram of Chester, she assured everyone her little one was okay.
“Thank you for all the lovely kind messages… Chester is just fine and was definitely the bravest out of all of us… He received brilliant care from everyone at the #Chelseaandwestminster hospital, makes you realise again how lucky we are to have such a wonderful #nhs also huge thanks to @ruthlangsford for coming to the rescue and @itvthismorning for being so understanding as always!!! Xxx.”
Holly has been married to TV producer Dan Baldwin since 2007, and they also have a six year old son Harry and five year old daughter Belle.
