Hillary Clinton will hit the campaign trail Thursday after taking just three days to recover from pneumonia after a headline-grabbing dizzy spell at Sunday’s 9/11 memorial in New York City.
Hubby Bill Clinton had to step in for his sick wife at today’s pricey fundraisers set for the L.A.-area homes of Seth MacFarlane and Barry Diller. Hollywood’s favorite Democrat, the 42nd POTUS headlined lunch at the Family Guy creator’s pad and is set for a “Conversation and Dinner With Hillary Clinton” at the IAC Chairman and Diane von Furstenberg’s home tonight. Bill Clinton’s also making a campaign stop on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show on Thursday – same night Donald Trump is scheduled to guest on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon – as his wife gets back to work.
Also today, President Obama choppered to Philadelphia to make his first solo stump speech for Hillary Clinton. He bashed Trump and earned plenty of laughs — including for a bit about how doggedly Clinton battled him on the campaign trail in 2008. Just when he thought he had it wrapped up, he said, “I like running up the Rocky steps,” only to look back and see she was right behind him.
During her recoup, Hillary Clinton has been tweeting like a maniac, mostly about her opponent. But also this:
After being captured on video stumbling while leaving Sunday’s memorial service, and taken to her daughter Chelsea’s apartment, Clinton insisted she was “feeling great” but, not long after, Clinton’s personal physician Dr. Lisa Bardack announced that the ex-First Lady had been diagnosed with pneumonia on September 9, a day full of events and a Barbra Streisand fundraiser for the candidate. In an interview with Charlie Rose that aired on CBS and PBS, Bill Clinton said his wife had become dehydrated on Sunday and that it had happened before, with similar results.
