Man Of Steel’s Henry Cavill has been cast in Paramount’s upcoming sequel Mission: Impossible 6. Director Christopher McQuarrie subtly made the announcement Thursday evening in an Instagram capture that read,  “Say, @henrycavill. Had a thought. Curious if you’re interested in a role in the 6th installment of Mission: Impossible. No pressure.” To which Cavill responded in the comment section, “How can I say no to a man with such perfect hair…..”

In a short series of back-and-forth tagging, McQuarrie made sure Cavill was privy to what was required of him in joining the Tom Cruise-starring franchise.

“@henrycavill excellent. Just a few caveats: must enjoy extreme heights, high speeds, motor vehicles of all varieties (especially aircraft), practical stunts, firearms, and sporadic exposition. All good?”

“@christophermcquarrie only if I get to fly for real.”

“@henrycavill I do believe I specified practical stunts. You in?”

“Oh ok…..I’m in!” Cavill replied.

The director then capped off the convo in a Mission:Impossible-esque fashion. “@henrycavill Outstanding. Welcome aboard. Your social media account will self destruct in 5 seconds.”

McQuarrie returns as the helm, from a script he wrote, on this latest installment, along with Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, and Jeremy Renner. McQuarrie is producing alongside Cruise, Don Granger, J.J. Abrams and Skydance Production’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg. Paramount will distribute the film in theaters July 27, 2018.

Cavill, repped by WME, The Garcia Companies and attorneys Gang, Tyre, Ramer and Brown Inc, will reprise his role as Superman in the forthcoming Justice League filmdirected by Zack Snyder. Other projects on Cavill’s slate include the Netflix original film Sand Castle and David Raymond’s psychological thriller Nomis.
