With The Royals premiere less than a month away, we’re holding on tight to the edges of our seats with anticipation. And with good reason.
In the exciting new trailer for the upcoming series, which was penned by One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn and is centered around the lives of a fictional British monarchy, we got to catch glimpses of some of the wildest scenes in the show. We’re officially shocked.
Elizabeth Hurley (who plays Queen Helena) looks glamorous as ever while ruling the palace with an iron fist, her husband King Simon (Vincent Regan) appears to struggle between his own desire to abolish the monarchy and pressure from his wife to lead his country, not to mention that he also has to deal with a treacherous brother, Prince Cyrus (Jake Maskall). Judging by the preview, which includes the prince pointing a loaded shotgun at the king…we’re willing to take a chance and bet that the throne is far from safe.
But with great power and privilege also comes greater risk…

Meanwhile, Prince Liam (William Moseley) appears to be getting into lots of trouble on his own, from sword fights and pub shenanigans to hooking up with hot chicks, while his twin sister Princess Eleanor (Alexandra Park) endures a hungover helicopter ride back to the palace and gets frisky with her own body guard. How on earth can anyone keep up with these two?
The series also stars Merritt Patterson, Tom Austen, Oliver Milburn and Sophie Colquhoun. And did we mention that Joan Collins will be making an appearance as Queen Helena’s mother? Oh, damn. Things just got real…
