EXCLUSIVE: The Film Arcade and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment have announced a multi-year distribution deal that will see UPHE handling all U.S. and Canada marketing, sales and distribution services for Blu-ray, DVD, Electronic Sell-through, Video-on-Demand and Television for Film Arcade films.

The partnership will begin with Film Arcade’s dramedy Don’t Think Twice, directed by Mike Birbiglia and starring Keegan-Michael Key, Gillian Jacobs and Birbiglia. The indie had a successful limited release earlier this year, earning $4.4 million at the domestic box office followed by successful electronic sell-through. Set for VOD and DVD/Blu-ray release tomorrow, December 6, Universal has acquired all international distribution rights from Film Arcade and co-financiers Cold Iron Pictures with plans for international release in 2017.

“We are excited to work with the talented team at Universal Pictures Home Entertainment,” said The Film Arcade’s Andy Bohn. “We’ve enjoyed collaborating with them on Don’t Think Twice and they will be an invaluable partner on our future films.”

“The Film Arcade is truly a top-quality operation,” Eddie Cunningham, President, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment added. “Combining Universal’s exceptional track record in content distribution across both brick and mortar and digital retail platforms with The Film Arcade’s compelling roster of specialty fare sets the table for a long and prosperous distribution partnership.”
