Drew Barrymore never knew she could be ”this content” without being in a relationship.
The 42-year-old actress is currently single after splitting from husband Will Kopelman last year and is just really focused on raising her kids – Olive, five, and Frankie, three.
She said: ”My daughters are so fulfilling that I feel like my cup is just avalanching over. If love took on a physical analogy form, I’d be an overstuffed turkey or piñata.
”So I’m not really hungry for it at this moment. I don’t think I would have ever known that I could be this content, this whole, without being in a romantic relationship. That would have been a surprise to my younger self.”
And Drew admits she was always ”overly passionate” when she was younger and can’t remember a time when she wasn’t in work.
She added to the February issue of InStyle magazine: ”From a young age I was overly passionate and thought everything lived and died in a professional atmosphere because, back then, it was really all I had. I didn’t have a family. I’ve been working as long as I can remember.”
Meanwhile, Drew previously dubbed her children as the ”loves of her life”.
She wrote: ”The love of my life. Olive. Sunday. Thanksgiving weekend. I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. This is a very special time. And may it bring out the best in all of us. And all the spirit of family and loved ones. I never knew I could love so much. I never knew I would be so lucky one day to be a mom. Thank you to all our many blessings for our family. And we wish them right back to yours …
”The other love of my life. Frankie. Side by side, holding hands. Best moments. I wish I could freeze them in time. To the old sounds of the carousel. Going round and round. These holidays can make me so nostalgic and just a big pile of mush! (sic)”
