Could ‘The Good Wife’ be about to end after its seventh season? The show’s star, Julianna Margulies has fuelled rumours that the series is about to bow out, after joking that she will be ‘unemployed come April’.
Is Julianna Margulies done with ‘The Good Wife’.
Margulies made the comments during the Casting Society of America’s Artios Awards, which honoured the drama’s show runners, Robert and Michelle King. It has previously been confirmed that the husband-and-wife writing duo would not be returning to the show if it goes for an eight season.
“I surprised Robert and Michelle tonight. They didn’t know I was going to be here,” Margulies said (via Vulture.) “They think I’m here for them, but I’m unemployed come April, and I think you haven’t seen me in a while – at least not in person – so I thought I should show up.”

Earlier this month, CBS programming chief Glenn Geller confirmed that the Kings would not be returning if the series was renewed for another season. “The Kings did say they would not be returning after this year,” Geller said, during the Television Critics Association’s press tour.
“The show could absolutely continue even if The Kings were not running it,” he continued. “We have a deep bench on the show. Some of the writers have been there from the beginning. We haven’t made any determination. It’s just January, so we haven’t determined if there will be another season or not.”
“[The Kings] have an arc planned every year. ‘’This is what the season’s going to be about.’ We haven’t really discussed beyond this what the series would look like, what next season could be, because they’ve said this is the last year we’re going to be on the show.”

“It can certainly go on,” he added. “I think you can see every year the producers are able to reinvent what the show looks like. They add characters, some go away, some come on. This show looks very different than it did just three years ago, and it’s still a fantastic show.”
At the end of the show’s last season fans said goodbye to Archie Panjabi, who played private investigator Kalinda Sharma. Panjabi’s exit came just one year after fans were left shocked when main character Will Gardner (Josh Charles) was killed off during the show’s fifth season.
