Clint Eastwood Would Destroy Donald Trump in a Presidential

Presidential candidate and GOP frontrunner Donald Trump would face major competition from a Oscar-winning movie star who once famously talked to a chair at the 2012 Republican National Convention to prove a political point…if he were in the running.

Clint Eastwood, a former mayor of Carmel, California, would beat him in a presidential race, according to a Harris poll, which surveyed 2,039 U.S. adults in late July on behalf of cloud telephony services provider CallFire. In fact, if he did run against him, the director and actor would absolutely crush Trump, nabbing 72 percent of the vote versus 28 percent.

In addition, about 41 percent of participants said they would want to see Trump drop out of the presidential race all together, while 25 percent picked Democratic candidate and frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

But Eastwood may not be the top celebrity choice for president overall. In a survey the company carried out in August, about 23 percent of the 2,084 U.S. adult participants chose Morgan Freeman as the star they think would make a good Commander-in-Chief. Eastwood came in at No. 2 with 20 percent, while Jon Stewart followed with 16 percent.

The poll also pitted George Clooney, a Democrat, against Republican candidate Jeb Bush. The Oscar-winning actor would beat the politician with 57 percent of the vote, versus 43 percent.

In addition, Ben Affleck would receive 59 percent of votes if he faced off against Republican candidate Ted Cruz and Jimmy Fallon earned 55 percent of the votes when pitted against Republican candidate Rand Paul, the survey showed.

Two hypothetical celebrity contenders did not receive such votes of confidence. The poll showed Clinton would probably beat Oprah Winfrey with 55 percent of the vote, while Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders received 54 percent when pitted against Jerry Seinfeld. What’s the deal with that?
