Before Chelsea Clinton takes the stage tonight at the Democratic National Convention, she sat down with E! News’ Sibley Scoles to talk about what it’s been like to watch her mother Hillary Clinton fight to be President of the United States.

And she also shared a side of her mother that hasn’t really been expressed during her campaign for the presidency.

“I think one of the things you may not see is she wishes her mom could be here,” the 36-year-old tells E! News exclusively.

“My grandmother [Dorothy Howell Rodham] passed a few years ago. I miss her every day. I was very close to her. I spoke to her every day, I tried to see her at least every other week if not every week…I know my mom is missing her mom so much and wishes she could be here.”

Regardless, Chelsea believes her grandmother is watching in spirit, and she couldn’t be prouder of her mother.

“Last night, seeing my mom with President Obama, I was so excited. I even took out my phone and took a picture of the president and my mom on stage together. I wanna be able to show my children what it looked like from where I was standing.”

“I’m just so proud of my mom and I’m so grateful that she is forging ahead. I’m deeply biased,” she laughed.

“I couldn’t imagine a better grandmother for my children, I also couldn’t imagine a better president for them and for the world that I hope they and every child across our country will be able to grow up in. So I’m just going to do everything I can between now and November to make sure America really understands at least why I feel so strongly about that.”

But that’s not all she had to tell us. Watch the clip to hear more from Chelsea Clinton’s sit-down interview with E! News.
