Cara Delevingne rocks oriental-inspired body art at Met Gala

Cara Delevingne rocked oriental-inspired body art at the Met Gala last night (04.05.15).

The 22-year-old supermodel perfectly embodied the evening’s ‘China: Through The Looking Glass’ theme as she stepped out covered in floral temporary tattoos intertwined under her stunning cut out black Stella McCartney jumpsuit.

The blonde beauty wore her hair scraped back and finished off her look with her signature bushy brows and heavy eye make up.

Cara enjoyed catching up with a host of her celebrity pals at the event which was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, including Stella and singer Rihanna.

She posted alongside a picture of herself and the ‘Rude Boy’ hitmaker on her Instagram account: ”It’s about time for a RIHunion #excusethepun #MetBall. (sic)”

Rihanna, 27, arguably sported the most eye-catching look of the night, embracing the Chinese-theme in a voluminous gold embroidered cape by Guo Pei, which she confessed had taken two years to make.

Speaking to VanityFair.com as she worked the red carpet, Rihanna said: ”I’m so in love with this dress, but the train is insane! I can’t really walk in it without any help. But it’s so worth it. I love this dress so much! It’s Chinese couture and it’s made by Guo Pei. It’s handmade by one Chinese woman and it took her two years to make.”

Meanwhile, Madonna made a bold outfit choice by donning a black Moschino cape similar to the one which was responsible for her infamous tumble during her performance at this year’s BRIT Awards.

However, the 56-year-old singer defended her decision to sport the garment, and joked: ”I’m working that cape. Capes cannot keep me down.”

While curvaceous stars including Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian West all opted for revealing sheer, embroidered gowns – Beyonce in Givenchy, and J-Lo and Kim in Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli – some A-listers seemed to ignore the night’s dress code altogether.

Ellie Goulding sported a stunning, silver, 1920s flapper-style gown by Marchesa, while twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen opted for all black ensembles, which would have been better suited to the Gala’s Punk theme in 2013.
