It’s the biggest night in Hollywood! Tonight (February 22), the 87th Academy Awards take place inside Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre and actors and actresses learn the fate of their impending careers all with the opening of one tiny envelope.
All of the biggest names in the film industry are expected to walk the red carpet this evening including nominees such as Reese Witherspoon, Bradley Cooper, Ethan Hawke and Emma Stone, as well as top-name presenters like Jennifer Aniston, Matthew McConaughey, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jared Leto.
With Neil Patrick Harris handling the hosting duties, this year’s Oscars promises to be both entertaining and inspiring – as musical artists like Lady Gaga and Jennifer Hudson will be spicing up the telecast with live performances.
It has been an especially-exciting awards show season, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences certainly didn’t suffer from a shortage of worthy contenders from which to choose.
The hopefuls for Best Picture include “Boyhood,” “The Imitation Game,” “Birdman,” “The Theory of Everything,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Whiplash,” “Selma,” and “American Sniper.”
