wrong stand for Yamaha YPT-240 keyboard,
I phoned Amazon and this is how the problem was resolved to my satisfaction:
1. the correct stand for the Yamaha YPT-240 keyboard was identified as the ‘Yamaha L3C keyboard Stand, available on Amazon for $29.95 ;
2. I ordered the L3C keyboard stand and Amazon reimbursed me for this purchase ;
3. I asked what I should do with the WorldTour stand and was told I need not return it ;

The Yamaha L3C keyboard stand fits the YPT-240 keyboard. However, it causes the keyboard to be too high, i.e. the height from the floor to the top of the white keys is nearly 30 inches. The standard height for a piano is 28.5 inches or less. A height of 30 inches (floor to top of white keys) is not acceptable, especially if the keyboard is intended for a young child beginning to learn. At this stage I am attempting to contact Yamaha to obtain a stand that is smaller than the L3C stand. Will update this comment when further news is available.
