Jack Black joined Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show Wednesday for what else? An epic dance competition. Who knew Jack could break it down like this?! And we’re talking belly dancing. The jives were all in good fun, and for a worthy cause! The Kung Fu Panda 3 actor made sure to plug his charity of choice, The United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF).
“I’m not a good dancer, but I do have some moves. But, this could be an embarrassment of dances,” Black warned the daytime host. Luckily, Jack’s dancing skills weren’t the main attraction so much as his philanthropic intentions.
“For each move you do, we’ll give you a hundred dollars or a thousand dollars—whichever I choose—to the charity,” Ellen joked, before agreeing to donate “a thousand dollars!” We weren’t worried about her charitable chops, though, since Ellen has partnered with organizations like UNICEF, ONE Campaign and PETA over the years.
Jack is no stranger to the giving bug, either. He quickly tossed of his jacket and gave it a little shake and stretch, indicating his readiness for the competition. Warm-ups are key, after all. And ready he was! Jack flexed his dancing muscles with a little ballet and an Irish jig before we got to watch him “whip” and “nae nae.”

“I don’t know what that is,” Ellen said.
“The ‘whip,'” Jack hummed.
“Mhmm. The ‘nae nae,'” Ellen shot back.
Jack also brought a pretty solid shimmy along with some disco moves, a belly dance to end all belly dances, an expert “Single Ladies” tribute, a running man, and a Vogue to top it all off. Ellen also held up a breakdance card, saying, “Thank god we didn’t get to that!”
But Jack brought it, of course. Can’t leave any loose ends on the talk show floor!
All in all, Jacked earned $ 10,000 for the cause, courtesy of Chideo Charity Network.
