“The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart announced Tuesday that he will be leaving the show later this year after a 15-year run. And while the news shocked many of his dedicated fans, he believes the decision is the right move for him and his career. In light of this conversation, stress management expert Paula Davis-Laack joined HuffPost Live host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani to discuss the potential reasoning behind Stewart’s decision and how we can all learn from his sense of self-awareness.
“He’s doing what’s best for him,” said Davis-Laack. “A lot of it is listening to your gut … One of the big reasons I’ve identified why a lot of people tend to consider leaving their jobs is they feel burned out. They’re just suffering from this chronic exhaustion and cynicism, and they, for whatever reason, need to try something new. And that involves really knowing who you are.”
