The latest celebrity hair trend is as easy as spending a whole lazy Sunday in bed…watching a Real Housewives marathon…eating peanut butter…right out of the jar.
Still, fashion-forward stars—including Hilary Duff, Sienna Miller and Kate Mara—are rocking the casually-chic half-up top knot with equal parts ease and edge.
To master this effortlessly-cool hairstyle, we tapped E! Style Collective members and Nine Zero One Salon owners Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee—hair mavens with a deep roster of celeb clients—to show us their genius iteration of the top-knot hybrid (read: it ain’t your mama’s bun).

In few simple steps, the dynamic duo gave E! production assistant, Jordan, all the tools required to create a look you can wear from a backyard BBQ to date night. All you need is dry texturing spray, a boar-bristle brush, an elastic hair band, a few bobby pins and hairspray to finish it all off.
Be forewarned: While you can use dry shampoo instead of texturing spray in a pinch, it can make your hair color look duller, Nikki noted.
For those extra lazy, err, busy ladies, you can stop half way through this hair tutorial for a simple half-up/half-down look nobody would be mad at.
