The new teaser trailer for Paramount’s Transformers: The Last Knight dropped tonight, and it looks like Optimus Prime is up to some startling transformations. “Two species at war,” narrates Anthony Hopkins, “one flesh, one metal.” And when two worlds collide, he tells us, only one survives. “Optimus Prime has left us,” he says, gearing up for the battle-heavy climax. Starring Hopkins, Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Laura Haddock, Isabela Moner, Josh Duhamel, Jerrod Carmichael, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro, the Michael Bay-directed film is set for a June 23, 2017 release.
“Without sacrifice, there can be no victory,” goes the tagline, and from the looks of the battle scenes Prime is sacrificing a lot. The fifth installment of the franchise is a sequel to 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction, and will be Bay’s final outing as a Transformers director.
The teaser debuted during halftime on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Take a look above.
