EXCLUSIVE: Topher Grace has just joined Hacksaw Ridge‘s Andrew Garfield and Fifty Shades Of Grey star Dakota Johnson in David Robert Mitchell’s Under The Silver Lake, which is a a modern noir crime thriller set in Los Angeles. The That ’70s Show actor will play play a friend to Garfield’s character who helps him with an investigation surrounding a missing woman.
The story centers on a man who becomes obsessed with the strange circumstances of a billionaire
mogul’s murder and the undeniable link to the L.A. “dog murderers” and cult indie music scene.
Grace just wrapped War Machine opposite Brad Pitt for director David Michod and was last seen in Truth opposite acting greats Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford.
Michael De Luca is producing Under The Silver Lake with Chris Bender. Jake Weiner and Adele Romanski are also producing.
Grace, whose credits also include the Lionsgate film American Ultra opposite Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart, is repped by ICM Partners, Lighthouse Management and Ziffren Brittenham.
A24 has acquired domestic rights to the the pic during this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The film, which Mitchell is both wrote and is directing, is the helmer’s follow-up to his breakout indie horror pic It Follows.
