We’ve got some exciting news—the official UK premiere date for E!’s The Royals has officially been announced!
The hour-long scripted drama series, which will focus on the lives of a fictional modern-day British monarchy, will premiere on Wednesday 25th March at 9pm. The show stars Elizabeth Hurley as Queen Helena, along with an impressive ensemble cast that includes Vincent Regan as King Simon, William Moseley as Prince Liam, Alexandra Park as Princess Eleanor and Merritt Patterson as Ophelia, Liam’s American lover.
The legendary Joan Collins will also star as Hurley’s mother, the Grand Duchess of Oxford, and the story will centre around the drama, secrets, and scandal behind the exclusive Royal family gates.
The Royals was created and directed by One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn, who wanted to provide viewers with exclusive access to the hidden world of royalty.
“I just thought it would be really interesting to take a look behind the curtain,” Schwahn reveals. “Who are these people? What do they want? What will they do to get it? I thought it was really fascinating and a great idea for the foundation of a story.”

Hurley is also excited for viewers to see the show and experience royalty in a way that they never have before.
“It’s a very nice combination of what the public sees and what the public will never see,” she adds. “And we had a lot of fun doing the latter bit.”
