Earlier this week we revealed that Chris Brown was facing a lawsuit from his former manager Mike G for alleged assault, and now it seems his legal troubles aren’t stopping there as imprisoned producer Suge Knight sues him for negligence after he was shot during an attack on a nightclub Brown was performing at in 2014.
Suge Knight takes out a lawsuit after shooting in 2014
Suge Knight is currently serving time behind bars for the alleged murder of Heavyweight Records co-founder Terry Carter in a hit-and-run incident last year, so you’d think he’d had enough of legal matters by now. However, he has taken the opportunity – while he’s got his attorneys handy – to take out a lawsuit of his own against Chris Brown, blaming him for getting shot seven times during a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party in Los Angeles.

Knight filed the suit yesterday (June 27th 2016) at Los Angeles Superior Court, also implicating Pia Mia Perez and the 1 Oak nightclub owners for lack of adequate security at the club despite the fact that many celebrities were in attendance. While the suit doesn’t state the amount of cash Knight is seeking, he is hoping to have his medical bills paid for.
‘[Chris Brown is] a known gang associate with a history of violence and had a well-documented track record of hosting events and or parties in which violence frequently erupted’, the suit reads, according to CNN. ‘As a result of the negligence of the defendants, one or more unknown individuals were allowed access to the event with weapons, including firearms. As a foreseeable result, gunshots were fired by those admitted into the event and [Knight] was shot and seriously injured.’
It’s not the first time Knight has sued someone other than the gunman for being shot. He took out a lawsuit on Kanye West and the owners of Miami’s Shore Club in 2010 after he was shot in the leg, but failed to get a settlement.
