Former ‘The Hills’ star Stephanie Pratt has opened up about her pasts struggles with drug abuse in her new memoir ‘Made In Reality’. The 29 year old rose to fame on the MTV reality series and has gone on to become a cast member of ‘Made In Chelsea’.
Stephanie Pratt has released her memoir ‘Made In Reality’.
In the book Pratt reveals how her drug problems began at an early age, ‘I was 14 or 15 (when I first smoked crystal meth)…. I was on the extreme level and addiction developed instantly,’ Pratt writes (via the Daily Mail).
‘(I smoked) probably four times before school, then at snack… probably 12 or 13 times a day. I didn’t care about anything. I could live or die, I didn’t care. I had nothing to get out of bed for, nothing was exciting.’
In 2006 Pratt was arrested in Hawaii and accused of shoplifting while under the influence of drugs, a incident which she recalls in the memoir. ‘I woke up handcuffed to a hospital bed. When I landed back in LA, Mum took me back home and I went upstairs to my old bedroom and I felt so much shame,’ Pratt writes.

Pratt then successfully completed a stint in a Texas rehab clinic which saw her turn her life around and eventually join her brother Spencer as a cast member on MTV series ‘The Hills’ in 2007. But during her time on the reality show Pratt admits she developed bulimia as she struggled to deal with her new found fame.
‘I lost about six pounds in two weeks but bulimia made my face very puffy so I freaked out and began going on crazy little diets, like I’d only eat Tic Tacs,’ Pratt writes, adding that by 2009 her weight had dropped to 105 pounds.
Pratt eventually overcame her eating disorder and she now follows a healthy lifestyle in her new home of London. The 29 year old moved across the pond after becoming a cast member on ITV’s ‘Made in Chelsea’ and appearing on the UK’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2014. ‘Made In Reality’ is out now.
