Paul McCartney’s style queen daughter has been at the forefront of female fashion for the past two decades, ever since she was appointed creative director of Paris fashion house Chloe, following in the footsteps of Karl Lagerfeld, and now she’s creating new looks for men.
Speculation about the fashion news has been stirring since February (16), and the designer made it official on Thursday (16Jun16) by announcing she will present her debut menswear collection alongside her women’s resort 2017 collection in London on 10 November (16).
The new collection is scheduled to arrive in stores in early December (16).
“I want to deliver to men what I deliver to women,” MCCartney told the New York Times. “A wardrobe, a choice and effortless modern clothes.”
A press release announcing the news reveals the fur-free and leather-free line will “take a modern approach to menswear, encouraging seasonless wardrobing.”
MCCartney’s November showcase also marks a new move for the designer, who usually stages her resort presentations in May. The new date has been chosen so fans can pick up new items closer to their debut in stores.
Stella’s in-season runway show format will not change – she will present her Spring 2017 collection in Paris, France on 3 October (16).
Meanwhile, the English fashion mogul has a date with the big screen coming up – she has a cameo in the new Absolutely Fabulous movie, which debuts in Britain on 1 July (16).
