‘Star Wars’ movies are set for a ”hiatus”.
Disney boss Robert Iger has confirmed that the money-spinning franchise’s manufacturing schedule will decelerate dramatically after the discharge of the J.J. Abrams-directed ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’.
He instructed Bloomberg: ”We will take a pause, a while, and reset, as a result of the Skywalker saga involves an finish with this ninth film. There shall be different ‘Stars Wars’ films, however there shall be a little bit of a hiatus.”
It’s been prompt that Disney’s choice has been influenced by the underwhelming box-office efficiency of 2018’s ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’.
What’s extra, plans for additional spin-off films have been thrown into doubt as Disney considers the way it plans to progress with the long-lasting franchise.
Iger added: ”We haven’t introduced any particular plans for films thereafter. There are films in growth, however we now have not introduced them.”
Iger made the assertion shortly after producer Kathleen Kennedy insisted that though ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ is ”the end result of the Skywalker Saga”, it’s not the tip of ‘Star Wars’.
She mentioned: ”This [movie] is the end result of the Skywalker Saga; it is on no account the end result of ‘Star Wars’.
”I’m sitting down now with Dan Weiss and David Benioff … and Rian Johnson. We’re all sitting down to speak about, the place can we go subsequent? We’ve all had conversations about what the probabilities may be, however now we’re locking it down.
”We knew we have been going to shut this up, we knew that even earlier than we began ‘The Force Awakens’. We are wanting on the subsequent saga. We usually are not simply one other trilogy, we’re actually wanting on the subsequent 10 years or extra.”
