Sony Pictures has promoted Marisa Liston to Executive Vice President of Domestic Publicity of the Motion Picture Group, the company has announced. Liston will oversee and develop publicity strategies for all feature film releases from Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation and will report to Andre Caraco, Sony’s Co-President of Marketing.
A 15-year veteran of the studio, Liston most recently served as Senior Vice President of National Publicity and has worked on a large number of Sony films among them the surprise R-rated animated hit Sausage Party as well as Sony’s other collaborations with Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg including The Interview, This Is the End, Pineapple Express, and Superbad. Other films she’s had a role in launching include the four most recent James Bond films, the 21 Jump Street series, Zero Dark Thirty, Men in Black 3, Bad Teacher, Talladega Nights, Zombieland, the two Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs films, and The Other Guys among other.
Before Sony, Liston worked at Baker-Winoker-Ryder, and served briefly at 20th Century Fox.
The two national teams headed by Sara Reich, VP of National Publicity, and Liston’s former second in command April Florentino, will now report to Liston, along with Angela Galgani, SVP of East Coast Publicity, Mary Powell, SVP of Special Events, Gloria Hann, VP of Field Publicity, and Chrissy Quesada, VP of Still Photography.
