Much has been made of Justin Bieber’s recent romancing of model Sofia Richie, but now the 18 year old starlet has spoken for the first time about their “special relationship” in a cover shoot for Billboard.
Sofia, the youngest daughter of pop singer Lionel Richie, was spotted jetting off to Mexico with the Canadian star a few weekends ago, during which time they were photographed laying on the PDA with each other.
They’ve continued to hang out with each other a lot since they returned to Los Angeles, and now she’s opened up about what she thinks about their time together.
“We have a special relationship,” she revealed. “Justin is very easy to talk to, and that’s hard to find with people in Los Angeles.”
She’s already appeared in prestigious publications like Vanity Fair, Elle and Vogue, but she also revealed that her famous father often tried to nudge her towards a career in music when she was younger. On one occasion, she revealed that Lionel invited over a very famous face to have dinner with the family.

“One night he intercoms me, like, ‘Come have dinner in the studio,’” she told them. “So I go down and it’s my dad and Pharrell Williams! I’m like, ‘I can’t just sit here and casually have a dinner with you two! I’m so sorry, I’ve got to go back upstairs.’”
As a child she started singing at the age of five, taking up the piano two years after that, but eventually Sofia said the expectation was too much for her to handle and decided to go her own way.
“It was the best I could have asked for, but there was too much pressure,” she explained. “Everyone had their own idea of what my music should sound like, and I just wanted to be an individual. I stepped back and said, ‘I need to re-evaluate this.’”
