The Drop It Like It’s Hot hitmaker has teamed up with skateboarding icon Mark ‘Gonz’ Gonzales for the L.A. Stories range, titled The Snoop X Gonz collection.
The special collaboration features apparel and footwear all inspired by their own experiences of art and street culture throughout the 1990s.
A release date has yet to be announced, but the two stars are promoting the venture with a series of videos, in which they appear alongside animated characters. The first promo features Snoop and Gonzales both wearing pieces from their new collection, reminiscing about their childhoods and the neighbourhood ice cream trucks they would always chase after.
It’s not Snoop’s first step into the fashion industry – he previously launched his short-lived Snoop Dogg Clothing in 2000, while he later experienced relative success with his Rich & Infamous line.
The new Adidas deal isn’t the only thing keeping Snoop busy these days. He has also formed an unlikely partnership with lifestyle queen Martha Stewart for a new TV cooking show, titled Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, on which they cook up a feast and invite celebrity guests to dine with them.
“My homegirl, Martha, and I have a special bond that goes back,” he shared in August (16), when the project was first announced. “We’re gonna be cooking, drinking and having a good time with our exclusive friends. Can’t wait for you to see how we roll together!”
Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party will feature visits from the likes of Seth Rogen, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Robin Thicke, and 50 Cent. The show debuts on America’s VH1 network next week (07Nov16).
