Simon Cowell’s family home was reportedly burgled in the early hours of Friday morning, as he and his family slept inside. Thieves broke into the £10m London property at around 2.20am, while he and partner Lauren Silverman and baby son Eric were sleeping upstairs.
Simon Cowell’s home was burgled in the early hours of Friday morning.
The raiders are said to have escaped with jewellery and cash worth a six-figure sum. After sneaking into the property they spotted a key to the safety and emptied it of cash and jewellery before fleeing.
Cowell learnt of the burglary after being woken up by his personal minder. ‘Unfortunately security was anything but safe,’ a source told The Sun. ‘The burglar found the key and bingo, he was in.’

‘Some of the gems were of sentimental value and there was some cash in the safe. The value of what was taken is well into six figures.’ It has not be discovered how the burglars entered or whether they deliberately targeted the mansion.
‘Obviously Simon and Lauren are badly shaken by this, but the most important thing is that they are safe and no harm came to them, and most obviously Eric,’ a source told MailOnline. ‘As upsetting as it is, Simon can cope with losing possessions as long as his family are safe.’

‘That is his one and only concern. Still, it’s incredibly worrying and he is obviously going to review security and increase it,’ the source added. A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police later confirmed the burglary and added: ‘Police were called to an address in W14 on Friday, December 4 at approximately 02:20hrs to reports of a burglary in progress.’
‘Officers attended the scene but the suspects had left the area. Inquiries continue [and there have been] no arrests.’ Police cars were reportedly parked outside the address yesterday, with forensics officers inspecting the scene. According to the Daily Mail, swabs were taken of the safe’s surface and throughout the house, while footage from CCTV cameras was also being examined.
